Actions and Words

Actions and words.

They must go together

For what good is one

Without the other?

By all accounts

You are wonderful and good.

But you make mistakes

Like any human being would.

Without your gentle words

How do you start to mend?

Without your humble words

How do you help them understand?

Or a gifted communicator

This you could be.

One who draws people in

And gets their loyalty.

But if you don’t follow

Your words with honest action,

Unreliable, flaky, unfaithful —

These will be their contention.

Broken promises

Hurt those who care about you.

But remember this.

Silence is painful too.

I am Phoebe Torres-Lucero, wife of a loving husband & my best friend, King, and mother to three wonderful, smart, active princesses who keep me on my toes. Phoebe means bright and radiant. Torres means towers. Lucero means light. Put together, my name speaks of a tower of bright, radiant light. And that is what I hope to be as I write and share my sari-sari stories with you. 😊
