The Best Husband Is A Good Father

King and I teach one of the sessions, His Needs Her Needs (based on a book by Willard F. Harley Jr.), of our church’s marriage preparation seminar called I Do. One of the needs of a woman is for her husband to be committed to the family (family commitment). We tell our participants that the best husband is a good father. A woman feels more secure in the marriage when she sees that her husband is as committed and as invested in giving importance to their family and raising their children as she is. It is not enough for the husband to be a good husband to his wife. He will be even greater in his wife’s eyes if he is a good father to their children.

That is exactly what King is. He is not only a good husband to me, but a great father to our two girls as well. Seeing him as a father definitely makes me love him more.

Thank you Babe, for being patient with us – 25,000 words each per day versus your 15,000 words haha. Thank you for enduring the chaos here at home, after a tiring day at work. Thank you for doing your best to give us each the attention that we need from you. When you make special time to date each of your girls, you build special daddy-and-daughter memories with them that make them know how very much loved they are. When you make special time for me, you show our daughters what a solid, loving relationship we have. When you love, serve, respect, and lead me, you show them what kind of man they ought to wait for and marry someday.

If the best husband is a good father, I must also say that the best father is a good husband.
